In the summer of 2017, our Founder Trustee, Tejshree Savara, took the decision to quit her role as an Art & Antiquities Lawyer in one of India’s most prestigious law firms after practicing law for almost 7 years.
In August 2018, while accepting changes that came along with the territory of being newly married & the loss of her grandmother - she launched the 100% volunteer run Not – For – Profit organization – The We Exist Foundation - to improve the lives of the street and abandoned dog community in India through its various initiatives. The Foundation is based in New Delhi and through the focal point of it’s work is Delhi & neighboring cities & towns, it does try and extend aid to volunteers across India.
She has often received criticism from individuals who questioned her putting aside a career in law to do what she does today (she still provides legal advice btw and the fee is directed towards the Foundation) – BUT what allowed her to turn a deaf ear/ blind eye to each undesirable comment is the ACCEPTANCE that my passion to save, serve and heal is NOT a choice BUT a calling.

To build a world of love for the street dog community in India through our efforts, compassion & commitment.
What We Do
The Foundation is not run by a large sized team BUT in fact a one-woman army, with the support of some truly committed volunteers, who provide support either on – ground or with their skill – sets.
Our work is 100% dependent on the support of donations received from patrons AND we are GRATEFUL for the trust that is reposed by them in our work.
